Our Story

It all started back in 2008 when Banff didn’t have affordable clothing options.

While working in a restaurant, Sherry McEwen and her firends were trying to get together for a clothing swap. Even though none of them ever worked before 3pm they still couldn’t all meet up at the same time. Sherry thought to herself, “If only there was a place we could leave our stuff so that we could visit on our own time.” Wait a minute…. that’s like a thrift store. Banff doesn’t have a thrift store.

Sherry McEwen had a very in depth understanding of the used clothing world. Wearing almost exclusively secondhand since the early 90s fueled her knowledge of the supply chains that thrift and vintage stores use. She was always a very hard worker and knew if anyone could do it she certainly could.

It was pretty bare bones at first but over the years it grew to what it is today.

We accepted charity at first because we needed it, however today the shop no longer accepts any donations for resell. Everything sold in the store has been purchased.

We believe in a cirular economy and host free clothing swaps to give back to the town that gave so much to us! Well made clothing can last several lifetimes and can do so much good if you let it. :)
